In April 2026, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation transitioning the Naples Airport Authority Board of Commissioners from an appointed board to an elected one. Beginning with the November 2026 General Election, Collier County voters will now directly elect Airport Authority commissioners for the first time.

The Naples Airport Authority oversees the operations, planning, safety, and long-term management of Naples Airport. The Board of Commissioners provides policy direction and strategic oversight to help ensure the airport operates safely, efficiently, responsibly, and in a way that serves both the community and regional economy.
